Vihan Singh
Founder @ Omnibook
Previously: Founder @ Blackrose
For 8 years, I built machines that print money.
Now I'm building the next one.
The Origin
19 · The Sandbox. Automated Tinder (swipes, openers, date-setting) because swiping is a colossal waste of life. Got banned.
20 · The Dorm. Couldn't work in AI, defense, or nuclear — gatekept by capital and/or regulation. Read More Money Than God. Started a quant fund from my college dorm. That was Blackrose.
23 · Escape Velocity. The code cracked after three years. Blackrose started printing in COVID. Licensed algorithms to institutions. ~$100M AUM, $2B+/month volume, $30M+ in profits over five years @ 3+ Sharpe.
29 · The Exit. Trading was a local maximum. Handed it off and left to build something with a bigger ceiling.
Now · San Francisco. Building Omnibook.
Operating Principles
- Be a polymath.
- The most interesting problems live at the intersections.
- "Don't become a philosopher before you become rich." — SRK
- "Make mistakes of ambition and not mistakes of sloth." — Machiavelli
- Automate everything that can be automated.
- Fight. Sprint. Lift. Fast.
- Loyalty is non-negotiable.
- Find ride-or-die people.
- Don't waste time on cowards.
- Be short-term speedy, long-term greedy.
If you erase the line between man and machine, you obscure the line between men and gods.
